Doctor Puppet Goes Black & White in ‘The Foregone Storm’

It may be a year without any new Doctor Who until Christmas (and that is truly one of the saddest things I could think of), but at least we can rest assured knowing it WON’T be a year without the Doctor’s stop-motion counterpart. Alisa Stern‘s Doctor Puppet series has been some of the most inventive, adorable, and roundly pleasing Doctor Who fan-fic anywhere on the web, and after a few specials involving the Twelfth Doctor Puppet, Stern is back with the seventh episode in her ongoing series starring the Eleventh Doctor Puppet.

Since episode 6 came out all the way back in September of 2014, I’ll give you a bit of a refresher course: the Eleventh Doctor Puppet is being pulled through time and space without any idea where he’ll end up next. As he travels, he meets versions of his previous selves, going backwards from the Tenth. A couple of episodes back, he realized that it was his old enemy the Master behind it all, removing his previous incarnations out of time and space, presumably to end the Doctor’s life in piecemeal fashion. In episode 6, his Fourth and Third incarnations were taken and he came upon a mysterious interdimensional doorway. (You can watch all of the previous episodes here.)

In the latest episode, he sees that the other dimension is a monochrome one, which means the Eleventh Doctor is bound to meet his earliest counterparts, the Second and First Doctors. As with the others, Stern has nailed the personalities of the Doctors without any dialogue at all. The Second helping the Eleventh up is very in keeping with his happy and cheerful attitude, while the First looking grandfatherly and holding his lapels may as well have been William Hartnell himself. Of course, I’m not sure why he was trying to fix a TV that wasn’t plugged in…weird.

We’ll have to wait to see what happens now that all of the Doctor’s many selves are out of time, and we can only hope we won’t have to wait another 18 months to find out what happens.
