Hi, everyone! I’m going to be using the trusty ol’ ChoVlog space to test out a little experiment that Malik Forte and I are calling, “Off The Top.”
First, some backstory:
Malik and I stream on the Nerdist Twitch channel every Tuesday, (my show is RPJess from 12-2:00pm PST and Malik’s show is NewGames+, 2-4:00pm PST). We often overlap and last week Malik joined me upstairs when I was streaming Fallout 3 (in honor of the hopefully upcoming Fallout 4 announcement from Bethesda at E3 this year). We started just chatting away, talking about everything and anything pop culture and having all the feels. We covered games, the UFC, movies, Joss Whedon’s Twitter breakdown… you name it, we talked about it. This then gave us the BRILLIANT idea that, hey! This is something we should do more often. Something that showcases the fanboy/girl side of ourselves and not just what you see in the studio. Something that shows that we have all the feels.
And thus, our experiment segment of “Off The Top” has been born! The goal is this: Malik and I chat about the hot topic leaks, rumors, news that came out that day – anything and everything is up for grabs whether it falls under the range of movies, sports, music, games, whatever the hot topic is, we’re going to snag it and then, off the top of our heads, based on nothing but pure emotion – we’re going to give our knee-jerk, first thing that pops into our skulls commentary.

- How long would you like this video to be if a series were to happen?
- Is there any social interaction you’d like to see implemented and if so, what?
- How often would you like to see these vids? Once a week? Once a month? Every day?
- Do you want the production level to be cheap and easy or something more “produced”?
