I’m sure you’re heartbroken that Usain Bolt won the 100m dash yet again and have to see a whole set of .gifs of his various celebrations throughout your social networking feeds. It’s over, though, and we’ll have to wait another 4 years for Bolt to be beat in the Olympics, because no one watches track and field otherwise. Anyhow, don’t lick your wounds by watching obscure Olympics events, but rather watch this week’s 5 Most Intentionally Funny Videos that will undoubtedly cure any injury of national pride.
1. Nature Break from Mike Hollingsworth on the Shut Up! Cartoons YouTube Channel proves to be the perfect accompanying parody of anything on Animal Planet.
2. Comedian/writer/rock star Dave Hill tries his hand in being an Olympics field reporter for BBCA. Hill does not disappoint as he enjoys a pint in a local London pub.
3. As part of their promotions for their upcoming movie The Campaign, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis went into a head-to-head quiz with elementary school children and, subsequently, the system.
4. Hannibal Buress gives an inside look to Pitchfork of the hijinks that happen at his weekly show in Brooklyn at the Knitting Factory.
5. Imagine if someone tried to rip off the Monkees or the Beatles with only two band members who just seem to dance on stage rather than play instruments, then try to make a TV show, yet only make 4 episodes all under 4 min. You’d get the hilarious, anachronistic Beach Dudes.
Per usual, Iâm taking submissions for the 5 MIFV. Same rules still apply.
-E-mail embeddable video link to [email protected]
-Submit by the end of the upcoming Monday (which would be 8/13)
-Videos must be posted online (i.e. have a time stamp that says so) between now 8/7 and the end of Monday 8/13
-Donât add any cover letters or explanations; please just send the link.
The Beach Dudes is really awful. Sorry.
