The 4th Was With This Exploding LEGO Super Star Destroyer

Yesterday, people all over the world celebrated May The 4th in their own amazing and unique ways. While some were sporting Star Wars clothes, Star Wars hairdos, or indulging in delicious Star Wars treats, others were instead building an $800 Lego Super Star Destroyer and dropping it on the ground in slow motion. At least, that is what the crew over at Wired did to celebrate the day. Seems destroying Star Destroyers is the in-thing this year.

The video series, Battle Damage, is a tech testing series Wired uses to see what type of physical punishment technology can handle before it is no longer functional. It also acts as another contest between competing tech companies to see which of their products is more durable.

The series has seen Justin and Eric pit action cameras against each other, tackle the next-gen console war, and test smart phone after smart phone in a quest for the most durable of consumer goods. Of course, their May The 4th video is not done so much as a test of durability, but more because it is fun to watch things get destroyed in high speed video footage; even if it did take them sixteen hours to build the thing in the first place. It seems this is becoming a trend for the series, who also smashed a basket of Easter candy last month for the holiday. Wonder what they will do for the next upcoming holiday.

So what do you think? Good way to ring in the holiday? Would you do the same if you have the time, money, and capability? Have you binge watched their other videos like I did? Let us know in the comments below.
