With a long-awaited return to familiar locales like Isla Nublar, the Wasteland, and the galaxy far, far away, and journeys to new locales like the inside of a teenage girl’s mind and the snowy mountains of Wyoming, 2015 has been a terrific year for film lovers. However, as the year that was slowly transitioning to the year that will be, we are left with the unenviable task of looking back over the countless hours of films that we saw this year, to hoist our favorites high upon our shoulders for all the world to see. So, that’s precisely what we did.
After many hours spent in darkened rooms and consuming more than forty-seven times our collective body weights in popcorn, the Nerdist editorial team has determined a comprehensive list of the year’s best films. We laughed, we cried, we argued late into the night over what was worthy of making our list, and now that the dust has settled, here it is. Some of your favorites didn’t make the cut, some of my favorites were also left by the wayside. But such is the nature of collective list-making, so read on and see the movies that made 2015 great.
