SUPERNATURAL Season 12 Key Art, LUKE CAGE Cottonmouth Clip, and More

SUPERNATURAL Season 12 Key Art, LUKE CAGE Cottonmouth Clip, and More

Did you join in the Supernatural Day celebrations yesterday? I did, and I salted and burned so many things… that was the correct way to participate, right? The Supernatural fun continues in today’s TV-Cap with a look at the key art for season 12; you’ll also see a new Luke Cage clip focusing on Cottonmouth, a theory about the villain for Marvel’s The Punisher, and more.

Burn It Down. The CW released key art for the upcoming 12th season of Supernatural for the show’s own holiday yesterday. Take a look at the Winchesters, Castiel, and Crowley surrounded by fire, and wait for the show’s return on October 13. [Twitter, Image: The CW]

TV Spotlight. Marvel TV is headed to New York Comic Con again this year. The convention takes place from October 6 to October 9, and Marvel will have panels for Iron Fist, Legion, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. [IGN]

Dark Humor. FX isn’t bringing Legion to the air until 2017, but they’re spoiling us with promos. A new short tease (above) shows David Haller and Lenny (played by Aubrey Plaza) watching the madness around them; it showcases the lighthearted and dark sides of the show in just 15 seconds. Watch another Legion promo here at Nerdist.

Heavy Is the Crown. When Luke Cage busts onto Netflix on September 30, Cottonmouth will be one of the villains Cage must face. He doesn’t screw around, and you can get an idea of just how serious he is in this intro clip. [Twitter]

All Good Things… Brace yourself for sad news, fans of Great British Bake-Off. Channel 4 has purchased the show and will begin broadcasting the jovial baking competition in 2017. Doesn’t sound so bad? Well, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will not be making the transition. Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood haven’t announced whether they’ll stay on through the move; they could leave, too. This news gives me a soggy bottom. [NY Times]

More Flames. ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s season four key art also has flames, but they’re different ones than the kind in Supernatural. These fiery touches are there courtesy of Ghost Rider, a character they’re really pushing for the upcoming season. The show returns September 20. [CBR, Image: ABC]

Wrong Villain? The casting of Ben Barnes for Marvel’s The Punisher series has people guessing that he’s Bobby Saint. But what if he’s playing another villain? Or what there’s an additional villain besides Saint? Jessica Chobot theorizes in the latest Nerdist News, embedded above. [Nerdist]

Salt and Burn. I mentioned yesterday was Supernatural Day, and to celebrate, Jenn created a Winchester tea party and I wrote about the weirdest creatures on the show so far.

Aliens, Creatures, Music. Did you know Gwen Stefani was working with Nickelodeon? I admit, I missed that news too. She has an animated series called Kuu Kuu Harajuku, starring four Harajuku girls who try to play music but are constantly interrupted by the likes of aliens, monster pets, and other threats. The girls were inspired by her dancers. It will premiere on Nickelodeon on October 4 with its 26 episode first season. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Dreaming. The latest trailer for HBO’s haunting Westworld focuses on dreams. It’s packed with striking imagery from both worlds–both beautiful and horrifying. I can already tell this series is going to get under my skin. It debuts on October 2. [TVLine]

New Faces. Saturday Night Live has three new cast members this year: Melissa Villaseñor, Alex Moffat, and Mikey Day. Who are they? What are their backgrounds? Michael’s done the research, and you can get the scoop here at Nerdist.

Warning: spoilers for Game of Thrones’ sixth season follow.

Use Your Imagination. Remember what happened to Ramsay Bolton in season six of Game of Thrones? I mean, it would be difficult to forget. But apparently it was going to be more gory. Image Engine (a VFX company that worked on the last season) talked to Variety about the grotesque details they were going to show, including showing the flesh ripping between Ramsay’s skin and gums. Eww. Read more at Variety.

What are your impressions of Cottonmouth based on the new Luke Cage clip? Tell me in the comments.
