SUPERNATURAL Season 11 Trailer Has Been Taken Over By Darkness

That Supernatural Season 11 trailer we’ve been waiting for has arrived. The CW series about the brothers who save people, hunt things, and carry on the Winchester family business has never been what I would call upbeat, but by the looks of it, season 11 may be the darkest of them all. The Darkness has been released from its cage and since it’s a force so powerful that it had to be locked away by God, it really should be the worst threat the brothers have ever faced.

And speaking of God, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is asking for the missing deity’s assistance. Hopefully this paves the way for a confirmation that Chuck Shurley (Rob Benedict) is indeed God and his return to the series. Based on the trailer, the world is in desperate need of his help. There’s blood everywhere, the be-spelled Castiel (Misha Collins) has all kinds of rage issues and an angry angel is just bad news, and the Darkness seems to be taking over Sam and several others. Remember when Cas was possessed by the Leviathans in Season 7? What’s happening to Sam’s face looks awfully similar to that.

Even if Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam, and Castiel are in the worst kind of trouble, at least Crowley (Mark Sheppard)—yes, he’s alive—hasn’t lost his sense of humor. He thinks the Darkness is a ridiculous name, and I don’t entirely disagree.

Season 11 of Supernatural will premiere on October 7. What do you make of the trailer? Let me know in the comments.
