STRANGER THINGS Fan Favorite Barb Is Back!… Kind of.

WARNING: The following includes significant spoilers for the first season of Stranger Things.

For all the great qualities the first season of Stranger Things had, the only major factor that left a bad taste in people’s mouths is the fate of Barb. The poor girl was just left for dead in the Upside Down. Even the show’s creators felt bad for her, and promised justice in the show’s second season (which has finally been officially announced).

Still, it’s going to be awkward if and when Barb comes back, and if a recent sketch from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is to be believed, Barb isn’t thrilled with how things went down.

The sketch shows the four young protagonists (played by the actual actors, who were guests on the show last night) playing a round of Dungeons and Dragons when Steve (played by a face-stretching Fallon) visits with a “present.” It turns out that the gift is Barb (played by A.D. Miles), back from the Upside Down and mad as hell. “Um… what the f**k?!” she says. “Did you forget about something? Did you forget about old Barb?! Nancy’s friend, sitting on the diving board?! Trapped in the f**king Upside Down for the past two months?!”

It’s not likely Barb actually survived her ordeal, but it would be great if season two included a pissed off Barb tired of being ignored, both by the police search parties and by her best friend Nancy when she only has her best interests at heart. We miss you, Barb, and we’re glad we never saw your temper get this intense.

What can Stranger Things concept art tell us about the future of the series?
