Stephen Colbert And James Corden Sing ‘Me And My Shadow’ on THE LATE SHOW

We’re just going to put this out in the world and hope that it happens more often: Stephen Colbert & James Corden need to have a weekly (or at least monthly) duet. The two amazing hosts paired up again on a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and belted out quite possibly one of the best versions of “Me and My Shadow” that’s ever been performed.

The 1927 original–credited to by Al Jolson, Dave Dreyer, and Billy Rose–has been performed countless times over the years proving itself a timeless song. This is especially true when you hear how it was intended to be performed.

The Colbert/Corden version was on par with a show tune with a “big band” sound and certainly more akin the more popular version as performed by Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra.

The duo joked a few times about Corden being a guest simply as a showing of CBS cross-promotion for his Late Late Show but with their performance, we can’t blame the network for wanting to promote this pairing. Colbert and Corden absolutely knocked their version out of the park, and it is something we wish we could buy on iTunes. Oh man, can you imagine if they put out an album?

Needless to say, you should be watching both The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden for the wonderful things they both do. Man, did we just compliment the programming on CBS? Now that is something special.

Let us know what you think of the duet and let’s build our dream album of Colbert/Corden duets in the comments below!
