Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still over a month from release, but fans everywhere are already crazy about the porgs. It’s no mystery why these adorable little creatures that inhabit Luke Skywalker’s refuge on the planet Ach-To have won so many fans’ hearts through trailer appearances alone. People simply can’t resist small, cute things. And given that, we’re all about to get a whole lot more excited about porgs.
As if adult porgs weren’t delightful enough, it now appears that The Last Jedi will also feature even smaller, even cuter baby porgs. Thanks to Rebel Scum, we’ve learned that a Japanese website has listed an assortment of The Last Jedi collectibles, one of which includes a porg with a nest full of baby porglets:
Looking at them, I can’t help but feel they’re a weird cross between the Tribbles from Star Trek and those baby Munchkins hatching out of the eggs in the beginning of the Wizard of Oz. Something about them is also reminiscent of the Xenomorph eggs from the Alien franchise, but I might be projecting a bit.
How much screen time the latest Lucasfilm critters actually get is still up in the air. It would be funny if, after all this merch and all these online memes, they only had a few minutes of the spotlight in The Last Jedi. A single shot of a porg hanging out with Chewie in the Falcon, and that’s it. But we can hope that’s not the case!
What do you think of these latest additions to the legion of little, cute Star Wars critters? Be sure to let us know down below in the comments.
