STAR WARS: GO ROGUE Finale Has Everyone Going LEGO

A new batch of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story toys are expected to be in stores this week, but the fourth and final episode of the fan-created Star Wars: Go Rogue stop-motion animated series is all about the LEGOs!

Previously on Go Rogue, the new Star Wars heroes, Jyn Erso. Cassian Andor, K-2SO, Chirrut ÃŽmwe, and Baze Malbus came together and stole the plans for the LEGO Death Star. Director Orson Krennic was once again recast as a different toy, this time as a LEGO version of himself. Except now, he wasn’t the only one! Every character in this short was represented by their LEGO counterpart, and it added another level of charm to the story.

The finale brought the Rebels into the very heart of the Empire’s operation, with the life of Cassian at stake. K-2SO also went undercover as a mail robot, and he inadvertently stumbled upon something that could have changed the course of Star Wars history. And even though this short maintained the comedic tone of the first three installments, it offered a way to continue the story that actually makes sense…if everything takes place in a LEGO universe.

Star Wars: Go Rogue may be over, but on Friday, September 30, fans will have the opportunity to submit their own original Rogue One shorts at StarWars.com/GoRogue. That contest is specifically for anyone 13 and older; children ages eight through 12 are getting their own category of shorts at Disney.com/MyRogueStory. Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and a Lucasfilm approved panel will judge the shorts and the winners will be invited to a special screening in San Francisco to watch Rogue One and their animated shorts on the big screen.
