STAR WARS-ify the Eiffel Tower (and Other Landmarks) with New AR Experience

How would the Eiffel Tower or Golden Gate Bridge look with a Star Destroyer overhead? You don’t have to rely on Photoshop to make this Star Wars magic happen, because Lucasfilm and Disney have you covered with an augmented reality (AR) experience. Count down to Force Friday II and new The Last Jedi products, starting September 1, by heading outdoors to one of 20 landmarks around the globe and using your phone to watch a short Star Wars AR scene.

Fancy, right? To make the scene appear, you need only download the Star Wars app, launch the Find the Force feature, and point your mobile device at the sky within a mile of landmarks such as the Hollywood Sign or Niagara Falls between September 1-3. Here’s the complete list of locations:

  • Central Park, USA
  • CN Tower, Canada
  • Coca-Cola London Eye, UK
  • Copacabana Beach, Brazil
  • Eiffel Tower, France
  • Gamla Stan, Sweden
  • Golden Gate Bridge, USA
  • Gran Via, Spain
  • Grand Canyon, USA
  • Ha’Penney Bridge, Ireland
  • Hollywood Sign, USA
  • Lumpini Park, Thailand
  • Memorial de America Latina, Brazil
  • Merlion Park, Singapore
  • Niagara Falls, Canada
  • Piazza del Duomo, Italy
  • Schloss Charlottenburg, Germany
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge, Australia
  • Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong
  • Yoyogi Park, Japan

This kind of activity makes Force Friday II about more than merchandise. The event isn’t only about acquiring more stuff (though merchandise is certainly the driving force for the weekend), it’s about bringing the Star Wars community together. Maybe you’ll run into fellow fans while visiting these spots.

You can also use Find the Force to scan graphics at brick and mortar and digital retailers and unlock characters and creatures from The Last Jedi. You can get porgs right now:
