Artists Create Minimalist STAR WARS Posters for Force Friday

With Force Friday–the galaxy far, far away’s equivalent of Black Friday–fast approaching, it’s important to make sure you don’t pull a fandom muscle as all sorts of Star Wars swag gets announced. If you go in unprepared you’re likely to cramp up faster than Jabba the Hutt on a fun run. Thankfully, the folks over at Fun.com have given the world some free minimalist Star Wars posters to warm us up!

All 15 of the posters are available to download for free directly from Fun.com and were designed by Cody Petersen, Travis Green, and Brady Johnson. They depict various Star Wars characters in beautiful, simple color schemes with a distinct restriction on detail. The results are works of art that can adorn the walls of anyone who has enough printer toner or an in with someone at a nearby den of scum and villainy (like Kinkos).

Quite a few of them–The Force Awakens Leia poster in particular–have a quality that makes them look less like a poster and more like a template for stained glass.

We love the attention to detail of the old-school poster creases on each image. Should you decide to print any of them out, those faux folds (fauxlds?) give them a deliberate, subtle defect that would cause any onlooker to wonder what special edition magazine you pulled these from.

Their minimalist design elevates them beyond regular movie posters as each one becomes more of a conversation piece than a statement of “Man, that person really loves Hotel for Dogs

Take a look at a few of our favorites below and make sure to visit Fun.com to download hi-res versions for yourself. And then let us know which is your favorite in the comments below!
