John Williamsâ music for the first six Star Wars films have several of the most memorable themes in cinematic history. Next year, music lovers are going to get the opportunity to get Williamsâ Star Wars soundtracks in new deluxe editions. And trust us, if you’re any kind of Star Wars fan then youâre gonna love these!
On January 8, 2016, Williamsâ music label, Sony Classical will re-release the soundtracks for the first six Star Wars films on vinyl, CD, and digital. Star Wars: The Ultimate Vinyl Collection will feature all six soundtracks in deluxe gatefold sleeves that recreates the original artwork from the albums.
Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Edition comes with the six soundtrack CDs and more than a few extras. This set will include a bonus CD featuring interviews with Williams and Harrison Ford, and the Star Wars: A Musical Journey DVD. Other extras include a fold-out poster, three âcollectible stickersâ and mini-album jackets for the soundtracks.
But if you absolutely donât want to buy any more physical media, the Star Wars soundtracks will also be available in high definition digital for the first time in Star Wars: The Ultimate Digital Collection.
Williams is also returning to score the upcoming seventh film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will arrive in theaters on Friday, December 18.
