STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT Will Be Unveiled Next Month

The force is definitely strong with this bit of news. As many suspected, Electronic Arts has plans to officially unveil Star Wars Battlefront during the Star Wars Celebration event next month. Aside from the obvious reasons to reveal the game at the Star Wars centered convention, rumors about the game’s official announcement started to spread earlier this week when EA’s name showed up on the show’s schedule as an exhibitor. If that wasn’t confirmation enough, it’s sealed in stone now. YES.

An announcement on EA’s website reveals,”We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19,” Though the specific day is yet to be revealed, they continued,”we could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it.”

Aside from the teaser the developer showed off at E3 last year, the company has kept details about their upcoming intergalactic title pretty close to the chest. The only inkling we have of what to expect from the title came via a batch of interesting rumors we reported on over a month ago. According to a post on the fan site Making Star Wars, the game is rumored to span the entirety of the Star Wars saga–taking place mainly in the original trilogy. Also, the game will reportedly feature a massive multiplayer mode that supports 64 players (32 on each side).

The game is due to release alongside the film Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which is slated for a December 2015 release.
