STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II Sends Han Solo to the Spice Mines of Kessel

You better buckle up, baby. The newest chapter of Star Wars Battlefront II is sending you to the spice mines of Kessel, where hopefully you won’t be smashed into who knows what. Battlefront II’s Han Solo Season is adding hero appearances, new maps, and a new look for the Millennium Falcon on June 12, all inspired by Solo: A Star Wars Story.

If that trailer doesn’t have you yelling “Yeee-ha!” at the screen like Lando at the Battle of Endor, let us break it down for you. The new appearances include not only the likenesses of Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, but alternate costumes for them as well, including young Han’s battered Corellia look and Vacation Lando.

Your first thought might be, “Sure, but what is it going to cost me?” Since Battlefront II‘s revamp of the leveling system and removal of in-game purchases, appearances and characters are usually unlocked with in-game credits earned during matches. While EA hasn’t announced specifically how all of the new Solo content will be unlocked, chances are good you won’t have to spend a penny. (You better start saving your credits now, though.)

The Han Solo Season is also adding a new game mode familiar to players of the first Star Wars Battlefront, Extraction, that takes place in the spice mines of Kessel. Rebels are trying to escape with vital cargo (coaxium, perhaps?), and it’s up to the Empire to stop them from getting away.

You’ll also pilot Lando’s Millennium Falcon with L3 as your co-pilot, notice UI changes and improvements, and see the Kessel map added to the rotation for a number of different game modes. And, best of all, it’s all free.

Who is your favorite Hero to play in Star Wars Battlefront II? Tell us why in the comments.
