STAR TREK M A C Beauty Products Made for the Perfect Comic-Con Accessories

Special things happen at Comic-Con. Otherworldly things that compel you to boldly go where no man has gone before. One of those landed right in the heart of downtown San Diego with the unveiling of the M A C x Star Trek collaboration pop-up. This special event was set up just for Comic-Con, giving fans a preview of the new collab collection a full six weeks early.

More than a pop-up this event, this experience allowed you to go aboard the Enterprise, get a makeover and even use a virtual transporter. For a Star Trek and beauty product fan, this was a dream come true. As with all things con-related there was a bit of a wait line. It also just happened to be one of the hottest weeks of the year but the M A C crew was fully prepared and kindly offered up water and umbrellas to those who waited patiently to be beamed aboard.

Once on the bridge M A C artists were there to give makeovers with the new collection. Lip gloss, lipsticks, eye shadow, nail lacquer and more were all available to try and buy. Fans oohed and ahhed over the colors with very specific Trek-themed names like “Set to Stun” and “KHAAANNNN.” Who wouldn’t want a lipstick called “Where No Man Has Gone Before” in their makeup arsenal?

The colors of the makeup were as stunning as the setup. Roving cosplayers and even Lieutenant Uhura herself, Nichelle Nichols, found their way to the setup on Saturday. The theme was perfection, even down to the checkout station, which was built to look exactly like internal systems control.

At night it got even better. Even though the experience was closed, the open-air structure was lit up to look like a spaceship about to take flight. Did I head over there at 2 am to capture the perfect photo? You bet I did, as the glowing rays of the ship gleamed perfectly against the calm Comic-Con sky. The immersive experience was a spectacular off-site event that allowed fans to feel like they were ready to explore strange new worlds and look fabulous doing it.

Check out photos from the event in the gallery below. The M A C x Star Trek collection was exclusively available for Comic-Con but is set to make it’s debut in stores and online on September 1st.
