Square Enix Drops Announcement Trailer for DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED

As if the fact that we now know for sure that a brand new Deus Ex title is indeed on the way, Square Enix just dropped an announcement trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and revealed that it is already available for pre-order. Though the trailer shows no gameplay whatsoever, we’ve been given our first glimpse at Jensen’s gritty-yet-gorgeous cyberpunk world, following the Sariff Industries incident from two years prior.

“I once thought I could save the world,

now look at it.”

The year is 2029, and as one of the characters in the trailer points out, the golden era of augmentations is over. Giving us a better idea of why mankind is so divided, another part of the trailer reveals that “an increase in the number of terrorist attacks highlights the danger posed by augmented citizens”. With transhumans now as outcasts in society, Adam Jensen realizes that “sometimes you just have to let go, and embrace what you’ve become.” Oooh, chills.

Since the old rules no longer apply, our protagonist must wade through all of the pain and lies to end the darkness that’s been unleashed upon the world. With Jensen receiving pleas from the transhuman terrorists to join their ranks, the story already looks pretty promising. As a game that is choice-driven, it’s nice to already see the gravity of the decisions that Jensen will face in the upcoming game.

While we still do not have word on a specific launch window, the company revealed at the end of the trailer that you can already pre-order the game for PS4, Xbox One and Steam. Perhaps the game will be here as soon as this all?

Are you as pumped as we are? Let us know in the comments below.
