SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY Brings the Boss to Netflix in First Trailer

This time of year it’s impossible to turn on the radio without hearing Bruce Springsteen‘s cover of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” The song is everywhere, but this December The Boss will be coming to your home in a far more intimate setting, with the Netflix special Springsteen on Broadway, based on his hit live show. And based on its first trailer, you don’t have to be in a theater in New York to feel like you’re in the room with him.

Springsteen on Broadway–a solo acoustic performance from his Broadway show based on his best-selling autobiography Born to Run–features the iconic musician with “his guitar, a piano, and his very personal stories” for a “unique evening with Bruce.” In addition to beloved songs and insights into his career and life, it also includes a special appearance by Patti Scialfa, his wife and E-Street Band member.

Between Bruce Springsteen’s distinct voice (both singing and speaking) and his proclivity for telling stories between songs at his concerts, a show like this would run the risk of being a self-parody for a lesser artist. However, because he has always been defined by his authenticity as much as his music, this looks like a truly special opportunity for his fans to experience what has been a massively popular Broadway performance at Jujamcyn’s Walter Kerr Theatre.

This year forget Santa, Bruce is coming to town when Springsteen on Broadway debuts on Netflix on December 15, 2018, the same night as the final performance of his thrice-extended, 236-show run.

What part of his life and career do you hope he covers in his special? Baby you were born to share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
