Does PS4’s New SPIDER-MAN Video Game Live Up to the Hype?

E3 2018 is barely underway, but the gaming companies have wasted no time in showing off their highly anticipated upcoming titles. Today’s Nerdist News Talks Back is kicking off our second day of E3 coverage with a look at the very impressive trailer for Spider-Man, a Playstation 4 exclusive title. The early hands-on impressions from E3 suggest it may be one of the greatest superhero games ever. Can this Spidey game live up to the intense hype?

Join guest host Amy Vorpahl and her panel of experts, editor Adam Murray, writer Aliza Pearl, and producer Ben McShane, as they dive into the world of Spider-Man before asking a key question: why do Nintendo Switch commercials remind us of BuzzFeed videos? Watch the new trailers for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Party again and keep that in mind. But will the Joy-Con controllers make Super Mario Party more complicated than it has to be?

And because it’s Tuesday, we’re once again asking whether Ben Affleck is stepping away from Batman. The latest rumors suggest that Matt Reeves’ The Batman will be a reboot with a new performer under the cowl. Also on the agenda for today is the new Game of Thrones prequel pilot; according to George R.R. Martin, it may not be the only GoT pilot in contention. We’ve got a few theories about what we may see in those prequel stories.

Nerdist News Talks Back airs live on our YouTube and Alpha channels at 1 PM PT every Monday through Thursday. Starting next Monday, June 18, we’re changing the start time to 11 AM PT every Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, we end the week in pop culture with our hourlong Nerdist News What the Friday at 1 PM PT, exclusively at Alpha. It’s the best daily talk show on the internet, and no topic is too big or too small for us to break down.
