Someone Finally Made a Video of Blink-182 Blinking 182 Times

Why name your band Blink when you can be Blink-182 instead? Well, for starters, Irish bands called Blink may threaten legal action and force you to add a number to the end of your name. But the appended number isn’t as arbitrary as you might think! According to lore (and the band), Blink-182 based their name on the number of times Al Pacino says ‘f**k’ in Scarface. There’s your fun Friday fact, and here’s your fun Friday video:

We’ve now been saying hello to our not-so-little-anymore friends for more than two decades, and, somehow, this seems to be the first time anyone has ever made a video of Blink-182 blinking 182 times. I mean, duh! So obvious and yet so genius! Just such wow. Our good friends over at Vulture are owed your thanks. (And if you like this one, check out this hilariously awkward video of 182 angsty teens blinking at a Blink-182 concert.)

The video was made in honor of California, the new Blink-182 album that arrived today via BMG. It’s the band’s first record since 2011’s Neighborhoods and the first ever without Tom DeLonge, who, ICYMI, quit the band because aliens told him to (actually). Drummer Travis Barker has called the album the band’s “best work in a decade,” so if you have any love for them at all, take the time and watch Blink-182 blink 182 times. You won’t regret it and it’s not a waste of time at all.

Anybody else have trouble not thinking about blinking after watching the video and now the rest of the day is ruined? Let us know in the comments.
