Blink-182 Just Released a 14-Second Song about Naked Dudes

Build it, and they will come. Except in the case of Blink-182‘s new 14-second song, “it” is a pool, and “they” are a hoard of naked dudes. Siiiick.

The Tom DeLonge-less Blink-182 are in the midst of rolling out their latest record, California, their first record in five years and first with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba joining as an official member. After the very vintage sounding “Bored To Death” (the verse riff reminds me of “Adam’s Song”), the band, channeling older antics  released their second song–if you can really call it that–from their forthcoming record.

“Built This Pool” is shorter than a coughing fit, and has two lines: “I want to see some naked dudes, that’s why I built this pool!” And just like that, it’s over! Or is it? Some jokester looped this song for an insanity-inducing ten hours, so you can really feel like you got your money’s worth. I have to imagine this is a jokey sketch on the forthcoming album if it even makes it on there at all. Perhaps this is sort of a spiritual call back to the shorter, cruder tracks on Blink’s 2000 live album, The Mark, Tom, And Travis Show.

It might be too early to call, but do you think this track will be on Blink-182’s new album? Are you looking forward to Matt Skiba’s contributions in the new configuration of the band? Let us know what you think!

Curious what it would take for Tom DeLonge to join his former bandmates? Find out below:
