SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Finally Gets Its First Teaser

Our national nightmare is over. Or rather, our galaxy far, far away nightmare is over. Because with less than four months to go before the next Star Wars movie lands in theaters, we no longer have to wonder about when we are going to see any kind of footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story after a teaser for the film debuted during the Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl on Sunday.

After weeks and weeks of debate about when–if ever–we would get a look at Alden Ehrenreich as young Han Solo, Lucasfilm and Disney ponied up to make the movie’s premiere teaser a big one during the big game. The ad, which shows Han Solo working his way to infiltrate the Empire, features quick looks at Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke, along with Donald Glover looking freaking awesome as young Lando Calrissian. He’s wearing a cloak, everyone. A. Cloak.

Okay, that was awesome. In only 30 seconds, months of worry disappeared.

But while we waited a long time for this first promo, reports say a full trailer for the film will drop tomorrow on Good Morning America, so check back here at Nerdist for complete coverage. In the meantime you can read up on everything we know about the movie so far. Also, enjoy some gifs:

And now that we no longer have to worry about when we’ll see a trailer for it, we can start talking about how good it will be.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, directed by Ron Howard, soars into theaters this spring on May 25.

What do you think of this first look? Was it worth the wait? What are you most excited about from it? Share your thoughts with us it in the comments section below.
