SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY’s First Trailer is All Action

Up until Super Bowl Sunday, we’ve gone without even a hint of footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story, even though the film is now less than four months away from its Memorial Day weekend opening. That has led us to do a whole lot of speculating (and worrying) over what that could mean. But in just a little over 13 hours we have now gone from no teasers or trailers to having two of them, and on Monday morning Lucasfilm followed up the film’s fantastic Super Bowl ad with its first full trailer. And now we don’t have a care in the world! Or in the galaxy far, far away.

Solo‘s first full trailer premiered on Good Morning America, offering longer looks at Alden Ehrenreich as that scruffy-looking nerfherder and aspiring young pilot and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, along with Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, and, yes, everyone’s favorite fuzzball.

If this movie gives us nothing other than amazing shots of Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke wearing amazing costumes and looking like the coolest people in the world, the entire production will have been worth it. As for the actual story, it looks like we’ll be joining Han Solo at the very start of his smuggling career, which will put him right in the crosshairs of the Empire. In addition to the trailer, take a look at these new posters for the film:

We are here for all of it. And to think we wasted all that time being worried!

Directed by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story and the Millennium Falcon land in theaters this spring on May 25. What do you think of this trailer? Have these first two looks at the movie eased any worries you had about the movie? Share your reaction with us in the comments below.
