Stroll Through the Clouds of Europe at This Mountaintop Sky Walk

As one frequents Nerdist.com there’s never a shortage of articles about comic books, movies, television, science and general pop culture goodness. We hope this site has become a one-stop shop for all your nerdy needs no matter what the subject matter. However, we do lack in one particular area, and recognize that there just aren’t enough articles on the site that make the case for visiting ski resorts in the Czech Republic. Today, we change that.

Nestled between Poland and the Czech Republic lies the beautiful mountain (and terrible scrabble hand) Králický Sněžník. Atop this mountain is the ski resort Dolni Morava, which boasts an amazing Sky Walk. Combining what looks like a badass roller coaster with the white-knuckle thrill ride of “walking,”  the winding pathway sits atop the mountain, allowing visitors to take a stroll among the clouds. DolníSkywalk07

The structure was built in late 2015 and stands 55 meters (180 feet) above the summit of the mountain, offering a pretty amazing view. Since we all know what site you’re reading this on, we expect you might be inclined to compare the Sky Walk to Ewok or Wookiee architecture, and we can only hope it eventually sees its fair share of Star Wars cosplayers. In addition, the resort’s website mentions the fact that, “More adventurous visitors can use unique 101 m long stainless slider with windows.” As something appears to have been lost in translation, we can only hope this means there is some sort of ride involved. Oh please let it be some sort of ride! DolníSkywalk02

While most of us will likely not make it to the Czech Republic to grace the Sky Walk with a joyous Yub Nub ditty, we can all take a look at the gallery below for some of the views the attraction has to offer.

What do you think of the Sky Walk? How long before there’s a 360° YouTube video of it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
