SIDEKICK WITH MATT MIRA Explains Why CHEERS Needs an After Show

You wanna be where everybody knows your name, but how great would it be after you left to discuss with other patrons every hilarious thing that just happened at the bar? That’s why on Sidekickwith Matt Mirra they made the case for why Netflix needs to give Cheers its very own after show.

In this clip from our Alpha series where Matt Mira plays talk show second fiddle to a visiting host, comedian Nick Mundy was behind the desk and Riki Lindholme from Garfunkel and Oates was in the guest chair. They were asked which classic TV series should get its own after show, and the correct answer–nay the only answer–is one of the greatest sitcoms ever, the Boston-based barroom series Cheers.

We’re not surprised Matt agreed with Lindholme about the Cheers after show. Not only because everyone knows Cheers is the best, and he has his own show on Alpha, but because he knows all about after shows, since he is the host of the one that airs following Star Trek Discovery.

If you want to see the full episode, along with past and future ones, sign up for our interactive online Alpha community. We have tons of great shows for you there, and we’ll even give you your first 30 days free, so sign up now. You can catch Sidekick with Matt Mira on Tuesdays at 9:00p.m.

And in the meantime, get on Netflix about making this idea a reality. I mean, who wouldn’t watch a Cheers after show? It would help you take a break from all your worries. And that sure would help a lot.

What other classic TV series should get an after show? We’ll host your thoughts in our comments below.
