There is legitimately no group of people who do more to shape the future yet get so little in return than teachers. Everybody who’s been through public school has had dozens in their life, and everybody has a favorite. Well, we don’t need to tell you that teachers often have to make do in their classrooms with a tiny, tiny amount of supplies. Because the school year is approaching (it’s almost Labor Daybor, after all), it’s time to give educators a helping hand. This is where you come in.
Redditgifts is doing a donation drive wherein you can give teachers the things they need to make the minds of young people as limber and idea-having as possible. Pencils, pens, markers, crayons, lunchboxes, dry-erase boards — anything you’d want to buy yourself for going back to school is perfect for this, as many of these teachers’ students can’t afford them. There’s no minimum or maximum to the amount or supplies you give, but the amount of appreciation and gratification you’ll receive is endless. The deadline to sign up to help is Tuesday, September 3rd, and the care packages must be shipped by Friday, September 20th. Every little bit helps.
To sign up, or for more information, go to the Redditgifts for the Teachers site and see what you can do. We’re in no way affiliated with anyone involved; we just think it’s a worthwhile endeavor. Teachers: They rock.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
