The New SHE-RA Trailer Shuts Down the Haters

“For the honor of Grayskull!” The secret of the sword is out with the first teaser video for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. This is a modern reboot of She-Ra: Princess of Power, the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe spinoff that debuted in 1985. However, She-Ra’s famous brother is nowhere to be seen in this video, which puts the spotlight squarely on Adora. Today’s Nerdist News is examining the response to the footage, which is quieting some of the dissent that was aimed at this revival.

Join host and Madame Razz’s magical assistant, Jessica Chobot, as she dives into the minute-long She-Ra teaser and the initial reactions to it. The new She-Ra received some considerable blowback when the first images debuted the new art style. Older fans are almost always resistant to drastic changes, even if they’ve aged out of the target demographic. However, the gorgeous visuals have gone a long way towards dispelling that criticism. If that clip is any indication, She-Ra is going to be a dazzling animated showcase.

Not all of the story elements from the original series have been altered. She-Ra’s alter ego, Adora, is still at the forefront of the fight against the evil Horde, and Hordak. However, the titular Princesses of Power may be getting a much bigger role this time. She-Ra’s supporting cast on the original series didn’t always get the chance to shine. We believe the new series is going to rectify that by bringing the Princesses to the forefront with She-Ra so they can share the spotlight.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will debut on Netflix on November 16.
