SHARKNADO 2 Looks Even More Insane Than We Thought

Judd Hirsch! Andy Dick! Kari Wuhrer! Robert Klein! Just some of the folks who are featured alongside returning stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, and newcomers Mark McGrath, Vivica Fox, and Judah Friedlander, in a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Sharknado 2: The Second One, which premieres Wednesday, July 30th at 9/8c on Syfy. Director Anthony Farrante’s sequel to last year’s surprise cult hit features even more madness than the first Sharknado, which answered the age-old question “Hey, what happens when a hurricane full of sharks suddenly reaches land?” Surprisingly, the science still works out. See what I mean when you watch the video below.

Yes, if you liked the first Sharknado, which saw Los Angeles besieged by nature’s killers, you’re bound to enjoy Sharknado 2: The Second One, in which the titular beasties take a bite out of the Big Apple. Other celebs appearing in this nature-run-amuck epic include Billy Ray Cyrus, Kelly Osbourne, and Perez Hilton. But the real fun will be in watching the filmmakers work their asses off to give you everything you’d want in a Sharknado movie set in New York. Sharks attacking the subway? Check. Sharks attacking a cab? Check. Sharks attacking Shea Stadium? Check. Plus, plenty of chainsaw action shamelessly lifted from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movies. Welcome back, Sharknado. Welcome back.

Here’s the official trailer.
