See Mark Ruffalo in the Biggest Hulk Hands Ever on the THOR: RAGNAROK Set

With production underway on Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, we have our first video look at the film’s Hulk… or more specifically, his big, big hands! Also in today’s Movie Morsels, we have a new featurette on Idris Elba‘s Star Trek Beyond villain, first word on a live-action Pokémon movie (yikes), and much more!

Thor: Ragnarok

Ah, Hulk Hands. Perhaps the single greatest toy ever to emerge from the Marvel Universe. But the beloved Toys “R” Us staple has nothing on the pair worn by Mark Ruffalo in the first video to emerge of the actor as he performs on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. Check out the following tweet from the once and future Green Goliath…

Ruffalo later tweeted another video from the production, with a little less green but just as much wit…

Heh, “man-cancelling suit.” Good one, Mark… Costarring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, and Karl Urban, the third Thor film is set to Ragnarok our world (sorry) when it debuts on November 3, 2017.

Pokémon

Pokemon

With the massive success of Pokémon Go (barring the occasional player walking into traffic or, y’know, a Holocaust Museum), it’s only a matter of time before a live-action Pokémon movie becomes a thing. Now we hear that Legendary Pictures is discussing just such a possibility, as the studio is reportedly trying to land the movie rights for the highly lucrative franchise. “Details are scant at this point,” says Deadline‘s Mike Fleming Jr., “and no deal has been closed, but I am persuaded that it’s headed that way.”

(Editor’s note: Nerdist Industries is a subsidiary of Legendary Digital Networks.)

Star Trek Beyond

Although Idris Elba’s makeup in Star Trek Beyond looks a little more like something one would find in the later Star Trek TV shows as opposed to the galaxy of the original Enterprise crew, I’m optimistic that actor Idris Elba will make it work for his benefit, and create yet another memorable performance for our viewing enjoyment… Because he’s Idris friggin’ Elba!

Check out a new video featurette on Elba’s Big Bad Krall below, as well as the new IMAX poster for the July 22 release…

The Greatest Showman on Earth

Zendaya

Hot on the heels of her joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Zendaya is in talks to board The Greatest Showman on Earth, the upcoming musical biopic about the legendary circus impresario P.T. Barnum. The film will star song-and-dance man/mutant Hugh Jackman in the title role; Zac Efron and Michelle Williams are also in negotiations to play Barnum’s assistant and love interest, respectively. If cast, Zedaya would play a trapeze artist with whom Efron’s character is smitten. Michael Gracey is directing from a script by Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt.

Flatliners

Flatliners

The remake of Flatliners (a Joel Schumacher movie that Hollywood for some reason thinks was a much bigger deal than it was when it opened back in 1991) has a release date. The life-after-death thriller will open on August 18, 2017. This time around, Julia Roberts, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt, Kevin Bacon, and Kiefer Sutherland are replaced by Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemens… and Kiefer Sutherland. Guess that Lost Boys remake is having script problems.
