Seamless Montage Highlights FARGO Connections from Film to TV

Oh geez, for sure there’s an awful lot of similarities between the Coen Brothers classic film Fargo and Noah Hawley‘s TV show of the same name. Okay, yeah, but you probably just might not exactly realize how many connections are truly there dontchaknow.

My apologies, but I’m the guy that can’t watch any version of Fargo without talking for days like he’s from Minnesota. It’s a real riot it is. Before you judge me too harshly though, I bet you can’t help yourself either after watching this seamless and truly terrific montage that highlights the connections and similarities between characters, scenes, camera shots, and plots that Fargo the movie and the two fantastic seasons of the FX show share.

Put together by Arnau Orengo, this video shows that the Easter eggs that fans are always looking for with the show are even more abundant than we’ve probably even realized–minus all the blood and murder and snow. We’ve definitely noticed that the Fargo universe (which is a shared one) is both frigid and really dangerous.

If you’re a fan of the film and have been reluctant to give the show a chance, I implore you to reconsider. For the last two years it has been one of the best shows on television, with the same dark comedy and intensity of the Coen Brothers movie, but while still standing on its own.

This montage is also a reminder that for all of the darkness that permeates Fargo, it has always been a world shared by good people fighting to save it.

What’s your favorite connection between the film and the show? Tell us in the comments below, but be real polite about it you know? Okay then.
