Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailers Sets Its Sights on STAR WARS

Alright Screen Junkies, you’ve gone too far! We stood idly by while your Honest Trailer series ripped apart many folks’ beloved movies. Sure, you made some salient points about Jurassic World, Back to the Future, and Mad Max: Fury Road, but why’d you have to go after Aladdin? He’s just a simple street rat. Well this time, we cannot let you take our beloved Star Wars and eviscerate it with your very valid points about film making and the state of cinema today. This time we say “enough is enough” and no longer will you poke fun at plot holes in interesting ways, or playfully take the stars of the movies down a peg or two! Not today!

Oh we’re just kidding. We love it when you do these things, and it’s about damn time Star Wars got this treatment. We hope this continues as a lead up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, since every film in the series really does deserve an Honest Trailer. But if not, they hit the nail on the head with this one.

First, giving credit where credit is due for creating an entire genre of film, Screen Junkies are quick to point out the downfall of the overly remastered re-releases, and dark Sith-like path of CGI Lucas found himself on over the years. Among some of the more common criticisms, plot holes, and mistakes that we’ve seen over the years, are some that we may not always think about. Things like Obi Wan not remembering that he knows R2-D2, despite having spent a considerable amount of time with him, or the eerie similarities between the portrayals of Luke and that of Hayden Christensen’s Anakin.

What’s the best moment of the Honest Trailer? Trick question, it’s the “Skywalker’s in flight” part at 3:48! If you disagree, you’re wrong, but let us know what you think in the comments below!
