Santanico Pandemonium Slinks Her Way Into FROM DUSK TIL DAWN: THE SERIES

Seven episodes in, Robert Rodriguez finally reveals his Santanico Pandemonium in From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series. And you can get a look at her in this new clip.

The episode, simply titled “Pandemonium,” introduces the headlining stripper/ancient indigenous vampire, played by Mexican actress Eiza González, and airs Tuesday on the El Rey Network.

It’ll be interesting to see how the series handles Santanico’s introduction; In Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s film, it served as a huge break in the story, which started off as a tense crime drama before becoming a full-on vampire siege picture. However, the series has been not-so-slowly teasing out the supernatural, with spirits and visions.

I’ve been very impressed with what they’ve done with this series and the changes they’ve made I’ve actually been okay with. That said, what made the original dance scene so epic, Selma’s beauty and talent aside, was that Robert chose to keep her in frame. For that minute or so length of the film, it was her show and we all were hooked. Never has a woman commanded such presence on screen in such a way. From this clip, they kept cutting away and I feel that was a mistake. Maybe they wanted it to look different but the dance scene should have stay as is in my humble opinion. But still, great job done by all. Loving the show.
