ROGUE ONE Costumes and New Characters Revealed at Comic-Con

We were already obsessively watching every frame of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer over and over since it came out. And then, after last week’s sizzle reel from Star Wars Celebration Europe, we got even more things to watch obsessively. And even though there was a huge costumes display in London’s ExCel Centre, Lucasfilm brought all of those and more to San Diego Comic-Con, which we’re talking about like mad on today’s Nerdist News! Not only did we get up close and personal looks at the ‘stumes, but there was the reveal of a brand new character!

We got a sweet look at the costumes for all the main characters, including our heroine Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), who’s decked out in classic Civil War-era Rebel chic, and has a blaster and bandoleer reminiscent of our favorite space pirate, Han Solo. We also got to see the costume of Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) and his heavy repeater rifle. If you notice, one of his pant legs has a red emblem on it that’s reminiscent of the Guavian Death Gang. Could he be a member?

And while we love Director Orson Krennic’s sleek white-on-grey Imperial outfit (much more fashion-forward than most non-Vader folks), our biggest excitement comes from the costume and reveal of a new character Lucasfilm is calling Edrio Two Tubes, a bounty hunter with a distinctly Vaderish breathing apparatus who is described as a devoted Rebel and an ally of Forest Whitaker’s character of Saw Gerrera. If you ask me, he looks like if a Tusken Raider and Zuckuss went to Vader’s body modification clinic.

Let us know what you think about all of these costumes, and the movie as a whole, in the comments below!
