RIDE ALONG 2 Trailer Sends Kevin Hart and Ice Cube to Miami

The trailer for Ride Along 2, the sequel to the hit Kevin Hart and Ice Cube action-comedy, has the two future brothers-in-law still trying to get along as this time they head to Miami to investigate a drug supplier.

The follow-up to the 2014 movie moves the action from Atlanta to Miami where the two will try and get information on the newest source for Atlanta’s drug dealers, Antonio Pope played by Benjamin Bratt. Hart and Ice Cube will be joined in their investigation by other new additions to the cast, Olivia Munn and Ken Jeong.

While the trailer promises plenty of explosions and chases, there looks to still be plenty more frustration and comedy from Ice Cube’s street tough detective James Payton and the now graduated from the police academy, but still far more delicate and antsy, Ben Barber, played by Hart.

In the first movie Payton required Barber to come for a police ride along with him, so Barber could prove his worthiness before Payton would agree to let Barber propose to his sister. The trailer for the sequel shows that a wedding is planned for Barber and Angela Payton, played once again by Tika Sumpter.

It is easy to see why Universal was eager to make another Ride Along, as the first film had a reported budget of $25 million, but took in $154 million at the box office. Tim Story is back in the director’s chair and the movie’s release date is set for January 15 of next year.

What are you most excited about for Ride Along 2? Maybe it’s the move to Miami, or one of the new cast members? Or are you just excited to see Ice Cube threaten Kevin Hart with physical harm again? Let us know in the comments below.
