You Can Finally Meet Rey at Disneyland’s STAR WARS Launch Bay

Star Wars Launch Bay opened in Disneyland in November 2015, just before the release of The Force Awakens. And the first and only new character from the sequel trilogy to do meet and greets at the Disneyland Launch Bay? Kylo Ren. Look, Kylo’s fine and all, but I can’t be the only fan who wondered when we’d get to meet Rey. That day has finally come. Disney Parks announced that Rey will be appearing at Launch Bay beginning in May.

Rey will be joining Chewbacca for the light side character experience (over on the dark side you can meet Darth Vader or Kylo Ren). This makes her the first Star Wars “face” character fans can meet at Launch Bay, meaning her face isn’t obscured by a mask. I regularly see kids, especially girls, dressed as Rey while at Disneyland, and I can’t wait to see all the photos of little Reys meeting their hero.

There’s no word on whether the Rey meet and greet will be brought to Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Launch Bay in Orlando, but she has appeared at that park before as part of their special Galactic Nights events.

I can’t help but wonder if she’ll have a role in Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars themed area opening at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios in 2019.

Will you be plotting a course to Launch Bay to meet Rey? Bypass the compressor and let us know in the comments.
