Remastered Versions of GEARS OF WAR & DISHONORED Spotted

With E3 just around the corner, rumors and speculations are about to become a daily occurrence. Today, we’ve got some exciting news–that is, if you are into the never ending trend of remastered video games.

According to the listings on the Brazilian rating boards, both Gears of War and Dishonored will be the next titles to get the up-res treatment. Gears of War, Microsoft’s extremely popular dude-bro third person shooter, has been rumored for a while to be making its way onto the Xbox One, so this is not necessarily surprising. Considering its popularity, it’s about time the franchise made its way over to the new console.

Dishonored, the stealth action game, is in a more peculiar situation. For some time now, it had been speculated that Dishonored 2 would be announced this year. But with this news, we may just get the “Definitive Edition”. Unless, Bethesda plans on revealing some early footage of a sequel that is planned for next year, with the remaster serving as a refresher for folks not up to speed on the first game.

Though plenty of people seem to be exhausted with the tidal wave of remasters appearing on the new consoles, these are two games people will certainly be excited about. Gears of War has been a franchise that the Xbox faithfuls have been clamoring for. Even though there has been a bit of misdirection through twitter, with a tweet from Rod Ferguson saying that a Marcus Fenix Collection was not in the works, it is only fitting that the shooter becomes relevant once again. Apparently Rod Ferguson was not lying about a Marcus Fenix Collection.

What is revealing about this listing is that it confirms that if we do get a GoW remaster, it seems like it will only be the first game. This has been the theory as of late because of a leaked image showing off only the first GoW. Could this be Microsoft learning its lesson from the debacle that was The Master Chief Collection? Since the issues with MCC seemed to have came from putting all of the titles together, plus their multiplayer functionalities, it might be the best approach to attack one title at a time this time around.

As for Dishonored, that situation is a bit more bittersweet. A remastered version will certainly bring in new fans, and hopefully garner more attention for the series. But this means that Dishonored 2 may not be set to release anytime soon. This will be a nice consolation prize for fans.

If you aren’t already, you should get hyped for this year’s E3. All of this news being leaked and rumors swirling around on the web is a foreshadowing of the brilliant showing of video games to come this year. Also, as tired as you may be of remasters, these two special titles should have you jumping right back on the bandwagon. I know I am.

Stealth climb your way down to the comments section below and let us know whether these titles excite you!
