Ready your wakeboard, weâre about to jump the shark. The original ramen burger, created by Keizo Shimamoto in 2013, took the world by storm by reinventing the both the burger and the popular noodle dish. Foodies lined up for hours to get a taste of the coolest burger on the scene and now that innovative food mashup is going mainstream.
Red Robin is rolling out itâs own version of the ramen burger called the Red Ramen Burger. For their take, theyâve kept the burger sandwiched between two buns made from ramen-noodles concept, but theyâve changed up the toppings by adding a teriyaki and Chiu Chow aioli, chili-infused shredded cabbage, carrots, onions and a basil leaf.
While this noodle-fusion burger will only be around for a limited time, Red Robin is doing a lot of promo to make sure everyone gets a taste. On April 19 they are offering anyone who orders a Red Ramen Burger a $2.22 discount. That date is suspiciously close to 4/20, when youâd think theyâd sell a whole lot more of these, if you know what Iâm saying.
In addition to the one day two-dollar Tuesday deal, Red Robin acknowledges studentâs budgets and dependence on the pre-packaged cheap eats of ramen. So also on April 19 the first 22 college students who show up at participating restaurants get the opportunity to try the Red Ramen Burger for just 22 cents, aka the average price of instant ramen in the grocery store.
The Red Ramen burger will be available at Red Robin restaurants until June 5.
