Real Working ASSASSIN’S CREED Hidden Blade and Rope Launcher

The lovable madman Colin Furze has made some spectacular things over the years. Working – for better or worse – replicas of Wolverine’s claws, an Iron Man suit and even the knife that toasts bread as you cut it from The Hitchhikers Guide the Galaxy. Well, the DIY maniac is at it again, this time making functional weapons and equipment from Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.

In the game, you’re equipped with not only the signature hidden blade awarded to any true assassin but also a new function of a grappling hook you can launch from your wrist to scale all manner of structures. Not content with making just one of the devices, Furze went and outdid himself this time by making both the blade and the wrist-mounted grappling hook. Powered by compressed CO2 cartridges the hook looks surprisingly easy to operate and while videos can certainly be edited, it’s impressive to see how many successful attempts were made. The video above being the demo, here’s the making of below:

The hardware involved probably isn’t the best for stealth operations, but the hidden blade on the other hand (ha, get it? It’s on his other hand) is incredibly sleek and sneaky brilliant on how its engaged with a flick of the wrist. We’ll have to wait a bit for that making-of video but one thing’s for sure – a LOT of cosplayers are going to get kicked out of cons in the future if they make anything remotely like these items. Sooooo, probably don’t do that.

What’s your favorite Furze creation? Would you have done things differently? Let us know in the comments below.
