Since her four season stint on Prison Break came to an end, Sarah Wayne Callies has headlined The Walking Dead and USA’s sci-fi series, Colony. But now it’s finally time for Callies to go back to prison!
Callies has officially signed on to reprise her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi on the nine episode Prison Break event miniseries. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the only holdup to bringing Callies back for the miniseries was working around her schedule on Colony. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell (both of whom are currently co-starring on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) will also be back as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, respectively.
Prison Break fans may recall that the series ended with the apparent demise of Michael in Prison Break: The Last Break. But when the new Prison Break miniseries begins, a remarried Sara is reunited with Lincoln when they learn that Michael is still alive and very much in need of rescue.
Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein is playing Sara’s new husband on Prison Break, and they are said to be raising her son with Michael. But who else will return for the Prison Break miniseries? Considering that Robert Knepper reprised his role as T-Bag on Breakout Kings, it seems likely that he’d come back to Prison Break if given the opportunity. Amaury Nolasco and Rockmond Dunbar are also rumored to be in talks to return as Fernando Sucre and C-Note, respectively.
Fox has scheduled the Prison Break miniseries to begin filming next month, so we should know more soon!
