Did Bryan Cranston Confirm a Major POWER RANGERS Rumor?

One of the biggest surprises leading into next month’s Power Rangers reboot was the fact that former Breaking Bad star and premature Godzilla victim, Bryan Cranston, signed on to play the Rangers’ mentor, Zordon. For those of you who only vaguely recall the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series (and who ARE you?), Zordon was the giant blue alien head who gave the Rangers their marching orders. But in the rebootverse, it’s been rumored that Zordon was much more than that. Now, that rumor may have been confirmed by Cranston himself. Aye yai yai yai yai yai yai! What does it mean? Today’s Nerdist News has the answers!

Before we go any further, you should know that there are possible minor spoilers ahead for Power Rangers. You’ve been warned!

Assuming you’re still here, it’s time to join host, and one of the Power Rangers from Aquitiar, Jessica Chobot, as she explains the strongest evidence yet that Cranston’s Zordon was once the Red Ranger! Much like Walter White, Cranston’s downfall started when he left a message in a his autobiography, A Life in Parts, to fellow actor, Andrew Gray. Since Gray played the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Mega Force, Cranston wrote “Happy Birthday! To a Power Ranger from another!”

Of course, we wouldn’t have known about this little exchange if Gray hadn’t posted the inscription and then quickly deleted it from his Instagram account. We expect that he may soon get a visit from the Jesse Pinkman of the Power Rangers universe for Gale Boetticher’ing it…but it’s too late, my friends! The secret is out.

If you think about it, the progression makes perfect sense for Cranston. He voiced a few of the giant monsters in the original series, and now, he’s not only playing Zordon, but a Red Ranger as well. The original Blue Ranger, Billy Cranston, was even named after Cranston because of his long friendship with Haim Saban, the man behind the Rangers’ successful run in America.

Are you excited to see Cranston suit up as the original Red Ranger? It’s Morphin Time, so let’s discuss in the comment section below!
