Nike designer Tinker Hatfield confirmed that power laces are on their way for 2015. While appearing at Jordan Brand’s Flight Lab in New Orleans, Hatfield was quoted as saying, “Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!” We don’t know when in 2015, where or how, but we know they’re coming. Who’s excited?!
Back in 2011, Nike produced 1,500 pairs of the Nike Air Mag just like Marty’s Back to the Future II high top sneakers. The shoes were released with little forewarning and were auctioned off on eBay with proceeds going to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, raising almost $6 million for the charity. The one downside to the shoes at that time: no power laces. Apparently the technology wasn’t ready yet, but, really, that makes perfect sense, because everyone knew that technology wouldn’t exist until 2015….
Next year will be a big year for the beloved time travel franchise, as 2015 sees the 30th anniversary of the first Back to the Future film. As Nerdist reported a few weeks ago, a stage musical adaptation is slated to premiere in London’s West End to commemorate the initial release.

Mattel makes a hover board, although it isn’t very good at ALL. The idea is there, but it needs more work. I think it can hold a small child but it’s definitely not adult friendly. Boooo!
That’s great and all, what happens when they cut off circulation to your feet, because of a malfunction, and how long have they been testing this? Sounds pretty dangerous to me.
Hmmmm, now just to find someone to do the hover board… lol
Saw this posted on Face Book~
Self lacing Nike Mags are coming in 2015. Check out the one and only screen used Nike Mag Footwear Bag from Back to the Future. Only 1 was created and used in the film and this is it, the original movie prop.
