Are Porgs the Best STAR WARS Creature of All Time?

Porgs. Are they the best Star Wars creatures ever? Who are we to say, really? But we do have a lot of opinions about the relative cuteness of Star Wars’ Ewoks as compared to Porgs. Today on Nerdist News Talks Back, Mothership’s Amy Vorpahl and Nerdist’s Kyle Anderson and Alicia Lutes ponder the latest creatures added to the Star Wars canon before discussing The Defenders and Game Of Thrones. Check it out below:

Alright, first thing’s first; what’s better: Ewoks or Porgs? Given that the foundation of the Star Wars legacy was built upon the backs of Ewok allies in the original trilogy—Ewok allies who died face down in the mud on Endor—and Porgs are fuzzy creatures that were invented literally last year so your little cousin could laugh when he/she saw them in theater this December, we’re going to have to give this one to… Porgs. Listen man, family first.

So what’s up with The Defenders? Will Marvel’s latest entry be greater than the sum of its mostly good parts? There are many ways the show could go to appeal to the widest swath of viewers possible, but we hope they accomplish this gracefully. If the show somehow manages the writing finesse of Jessica Jones, the cultural acuity of Luke Cage, the sharp style of Daredevil, and we guess the hard punches (we dunno, man) of Iron Fist, then the show would be in a stellar spot. Here is to hoping they are able to pull some of that off.

And finally, the gang discusses even more Game Of Thrones theories. This time, our Valyrian blade is pointed firmly at the recently convalesced Ser Jorah. Is everything going to work out for him, or is he totally hosed? Well, we have a few theories. One of our ideas is that Jorah will be the wight that 7 Beyond The Wall will bring back to show Dany and Cersei to prove the real dangers of the living dead. We also have a theory positing that Greyscale is actually the ticket for a cure against turning into a wight. What do you think is more likely?

Do you think Porgs are the greatest Star Wars creatures of all time? Are you nervous The Defenders won’t be as good as its individual shows? Is Ser Jorah totally hosed? Let us know what you think!
