Watch Lonely Island’s First POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING Trailer (NSFW)

“My fans and me, we’re in love. The arena is our bedroom, and the stage–the stage is where we f***.”

Those are smooth, sensual, stupid words of Conner4Real (played by Andy Samberg), the Bieber-like musician lacking any self awareness or humility at the center of the new comedy Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, from The Lonely Island and Judd Apatow.

In this funny first trailer, we meet Conner, who is in the midst of enjoying life in his protected bubble (the one that includes “32 people on his personal payroll”) and who is, according to Simon Cowell, “actually saving the record industry.” The tattooed Conner brags about his own version of Beliebers—his “Connfidants”—performs in sold out arenas alongside a “so expensive” hologram of Adam Levine, and spends his life surrounded by people that are “agreeable.”

We also get to see some of the people that make up his ridiculous inner circle, because as Conner says, “It takes a village to make me look dope.” Both other members of The Lonely Island will join Samberg in the film, with Jorma Taccone playing his DJ and Akiva Shaffer as his bearded, wood-working lyricist. Taccone and Shaffer co-directed the movie.

But that’s not even the tip of the iceberg, as the movie is an all-star lineup of great comedians and musicians. Just a small list includes:

The montage at the end gives us an even better idea of the absurd existence Conner is living, one totally devoid of reality. He has a unicorn handler, umbrella wrangler, documentary filmmaker, green room manager, turtle sitter, jet driver, fall guy, portrait artist, and of course, a trailer editor.

While this trailer looks primarily at the spoiled life of the popstar, the movie will go “behind the scenes as singer/rapper Conner4Real faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops, leaving his fans, sycophants and rivals all wondering what to do when he’s no longer the dopest star of all.” Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping opens on June 3.
