PEANUTS Gang to Join Up with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

When you answer your door on Halloween this year, don’t be confused if Peppermint Patty asks you for money. In fact, make sure you grab your wallet and give it to her, because it’s all for a very good cause. The gang from The Peanuts Movie will be helping out with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF this year, so you might just see Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the crew at your front door on Halloween.

If you are unfamiliar with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, check out their website:

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF began in 1950 as a way for kids to help kids in need of more than candy. Since then, children have gone door-to-door with their UNICEF collection boxes on Halloween, calling out “Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF!” They have raised more than $175 million for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF over the past 65 years.

The program helps needy children around the world, providing things like food, clean water, medicine, and educational resources. Besides giving donations to trick-or-treaters, K-12 teachers and schools can get in on the act and help raise funds by getting resources from UNICEF. Teachers, just make sure you speak clearly when explaining this great fundraiser to your students.

If you’d like to help out now (or don’t get many little ghosts and goblins on your street) you can always just make a donation yourself directly.

The new Peanuts movie opens on November 6th, but by joining up with this great cause, it will already be a success before it even premieres.
