Peanuts Characters Parody the World’s Most Famous Spy

“The name is Brown. Charles Brown.”

It was a killer weekend for movies, with the new Bond film, Spectre, and The Peanuts Movie, which we’ve been waiting patiently for I don’t know, like, a thousand years? These two films were in competition for box office glory, so it’s only fitting that our beloved Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang should parody James Bond in a collection of posters.

Before we unveil the goods, though, try this bit of trivia on for size: The Peanuts Movie, which is based on Charles M. Schulz‘s legendary comic strip, was written by his son Brian, and his son, Craig (and also an unrelated person; Cornelius Uliano). Isn’t that cute? A legit family affair. Their policy was to never make a Peanuts movie, but then Craig wrote a 2011 Peanuts TV special, and that ruined everything (which we are grateful for). Okay, on to the posters.

This next one is my personal favorite. It had me laughing out loud, and I hope it does you, too.

Check out the gallery below for more Peanuts goodness, and then grab a special friend to see the film with. You know it’ll drip sweet nostalgia, and feel as timeless as the comic. Literally it will feel timeless, as there are no cell phones in this movie. The creative team refused to bring the gang into the 21st century, which is good, because it would be weird to see Charlie Brown texting.

What did you think of these parody posters? Which one is your favorite? Did you go to see The Peanuts Movie and Spectre? Reach out to me on Twitter (@trilbyberesford) with your thoughts, or make a comment in the section below!
