Paul Rudd Shows off His Dance Moves in ANT-MAN Gag Reel

On paper, the Ant-Man movie could have been a disaster. Marvel’s detractors certainly thought it would be the company’s first flop, especially after original Ant-Man director Edgar Wright left the project over creative differences shortly before production was scheduled to begin.

Director Peyton Reed was tasked with taking over the reins from Wright, and by all accounts he did an admirable job. Ant-Man proved the doubters wrong and it went on to become one of the top grossing films of the summer. And judging by recently gag reel for Ant-Man, Reed kept things fairly light on the set.

But it’s Rudd who delivers the big laughs in these deleted clips, as he apparently loved to dance. Rudd’s most memorable dance outtake took place in Cassie’s bedroom near the end of the film, as he gets the crew to laugh hysterically as he gyrated his body.

Keep in mind, the clip above is only the opening of the full gag reel that will be included on the Ant-Man Blu-ray release on Tuesday, December 8. Other special features on Ant-Man include commentary by Reed and Rudd, deleted scenes, in-universe news videos, and featurettes on how Ant-Man’s effects were created for the big screen.

Reed is likely to return for the film’s sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, which will place Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Pym on equal footing with Rudd’s Scott Lang. Michael Douglas is in talks to reprise his role as Hank Pym, but it’s not clear if the entire supporting cast of Ant-Man will be back for the sequel when it opens on July 6, 2018.
