You Must Check Out NOCTURNAL ANIMALS’ Crazy, Sexy Trailer

I can still remember first finishing up Gillian Flynn‘s Gone Girl. I closed the book, and sort of just walked around in a daze for a bit as I tried to process the ending. The book was crazy, the story kept me guessing, and I hadn’t ever read anything quite like it. While I knew what to expect from the film, David Fincher’s 2014 adaptation of the novel was brilliant as well. And it seems like another novel adaptation is headed to theaters that will officially fill crazy couple-shaped hole that Gone Girl left in our lives: Nocturnal Animals.

Nocturnal Animals is Tom Ford‘s first movie since his critically-acclaimed A Single Man, and the first official trailer has landed today. Based on a novel by Austin Wright called Tony and Susan, the film centers around Susan (Amy Adams) receiving a manuscript from her ex-husband, Tony (Jake Gyllenhaal), that is a violent, threatening tale that Susan perceives as a threat of violence and revenge on her for a past injustice. The trailer for Nocturnal Animals looks intense, and like it will be one that keeps you guessing from start to finish. Our own Dan Casey saw the film at the Toronto International Film Festival and said it was a film so captivating that you “must watch every second.” After all, with Ford’s amazing directorial and writer’s hand on the film and a cast filled with brilliant actors like Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Shannon, this story is going to transport us to a truly crazy and enthralling place.

Nocturnal Animals will hit select theaters on November 18, and will release widely on December 9. Will you be seeing it? Have you read the Austin Wright novel? Tell us what you thought of the original novel and the trailer in the comments!
