Whatâs better than a show starring Paul Rudd? How about a show starring two Paul Rudds?
Though thereâs no set release date yet, fans of the affable, adorable, and famously ageless Rudd have something new to look forward to: a Netflix comedy series called Living with Yourself (via The Wrap) in which heâll play a man who undergoes a procedure to transform into a better version of himself. Heâll also portray the new and improved version, and the two Rudds will clash, presumably in a hilarious fashion.
This, of course, isnât Ruddâs first turn on Netflix. He appeared in both Wet Hot American Summer spinoff series, First Day of Camp and Ten Years Later, and later starred in the Duncan Jones-directed Mute. Though Ruddâs Scott Lang/Ant-Man has been a nonstop delight thus far, itâll be fun to have him on the small screen again, especially since weâll get to see some range through the dual roles.
The first season of Living with Yourselfâwhich was initially slated to air on IFC, but hey, their (probable) lossâwill run for eight episodes, and no further information has been released about the cast. We do know that the seriesâ creator and showrunner is Timothy Greenberg, who was an executive producer on the Jon Stewart incarnation of The Daily Show and consults on TBSâ The Detour. Co-directing and executive producing the show will be Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who previously collaborated on Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks, and Battle of the Sexes. Hereâs hoping the show lives up to the movies and TV shows that came before it. Given the multiple Rudds, weâre feeling pretty optimistic.
How many Paul Rudds (or Pauls Rudd) is the right number? Let us know in the comments!
