We thought this footage would never see the light of anywhere that wasn’t the WonderCon arena in March, but due to popular demand, Warner Bros has released the exclusive trailer/footage for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim onto its YouTube channel.
Now we can see more than we ever have before of the truly world-shaking battle between Kaiju monsters and human-powered Jaeger robots. We see Charlie Day for the first time and a glimpse of the great Ron Perlman, who is a del Toro movie staple. There’s also a WHOLE lot of wanton destruction. We love ourselves some city-smashing giant thing action. And does anyone get tired of hearing Idris Elba shout that he’s cancelling the Apocalypse? We sure don’t.
Pacific Rim pits robots against monsters in IMAX 3D on July 12th. Get thee excitedeth.
